Call to Action: Protect High-Speed Rail in Florida
NARP needs Florida members to take action TODAY to ensure that All Aboard Florida—a proposed privately funded high-speed rail project that will connect Miami to Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach and Orlando—can move forward. All Aboard Florida represents the best chance Floridians have at having a convenient and reliable alternative to the massively congested Interstate 95.
Rep. Bill Posey (R-Fla.) is offering up two amendments in the Transportation, Housing & Urban Development appropriations bill that would slow the progress of All Aboard Florida. Votes are scheduled for tomorrow, so taking action today is urgent. NARP is urging members to click here to contact their elected officials and ask them to support this vital infrastructure project. We thank you for your support of this important effort.
"The COVID Pandemic has been and continues to be the biggest challenge faced by Americans as it has taken a deadly toll on the world and on the world’s economies. During COVID Locomotive Engineers at Amtrak and other Passenger and Freight Railroads have embodied the definition of essential workers. This dedication by our members is not new. We applaud the Rail Passenger’s Association for recognizing the vital contributions of our members and their hard work moving Americans and freight during the COVID pandemic."
